Australian Allrounder Mitchell Marsh is remaining optimistic about his recovery from the hamstring injury that obstructed his participation in the Indian Premier League, being played in India. Marsh continues to recover from hamstring injury as he has expressed his confidence to be fully fit in the run up to the T20I World Cup 2024, set to be played in West Indies and USA from June 1.

Mitchell Marsh was officially appointed Australia’s skipper in the shortest format of the game when Australia announced their World Cup squad on Wednesday. Marsh will be leading Australia in their campaign at the T20 showpiece in the availability of experienced Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. Marsh was flown back to Australia from India on April 13, cutting short his participation in the IPL to make his recovery from hamstring injury.

"The hammy is good, it's coming along really well. It's pretty much exactly where we want it to be. It's one of those things. Just got to get it right over the next three weeks and get on the plane,” Marsh was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

"If we had to play tomorrow, I would be in a bit of trouble. Still a couple of weeks away, and the timing probably sits perfectly barring any setbacks."

Marsh was with Delhi Capitals in their campaign at IPL only for four games as he returned home after suffering hamstring injury.
