KKR hope to end longest-ever losing streak against MI

News

Kolkata Knight Riders will hope to end the trend of never having won against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede since 2012, when they face off against Mumbai Indians in the 51st match of the ongoing Indian Premier League on Friday at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. KKR are on the threshold of making it to the playoffs provided they should continue with winning ways. In their last game, KKR successfully returned to winning ways after suffering a heavy defeat against Punjab Kings in the match before this, failing to defend 261, with Jonny Bairstow blasting 108 unbeaten.

KKR need to have two wins from their remaining five games to secure their berth into the playoffs. KKR are currently basking in the glory of their second-place position on the points table, and riding high on a wave of momentum. Dazzling performances from Sunil Narine, Phil Salt and Shreyas Iyer have been the launchpad for KKR’s robust totals.

On the other end, Mumbai Indians, a team accustomed to dominance and success in the IPL, have been unable to make their impact, languishing at the bottom in the points table. It’s been a challenging season for Mumbai Indians . They don’t seem to have any chance to make it to the playoffs, yet Hardik Pandya will have the opportunity to prove his leadership skills.
