BCCI secretary Jay Shah provides massive update on Rishabh Pant
India’s explosive wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant is all set to make his return to action, having remained on the sidelines for almost year-and-a-half. Over the past one and a half years, Rishabh Pant has been on the path of recovery after sustaining grave injuries during the car crash in December 2022.
As the Indian Premier League approaches, Rishabh Pant is gearing up to make his much-anticipated return to the proceedings. Soon after the IPL, team India will be preparing for the T20I World Cup that will be held in June. Over his availability at the T20I World Cup, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has said Pant can play the T20I World Cup if he can keep wickets.
"He is batting well, he is keeping well. We will declare him fit very soon. If he can play the T20 World Cup for us, that will be a big thing for us. He is a big asset for us. If he can keep, he can play the World Cup. Let's see how he does in the IPL," Jay Shah told PTI.
Following the horrific car crash, Pant suffered serious injuries to his right knee, requiring ligament construction. Pant has gone through considerable amount of hard work to make his recovery from injuries to make himself available for the IPL 2024.
