IPL 2024: Out of sorts Mumbai and Punjab hope to revive themselves

Plunged in a precarious situation, Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians will be eying a win to resuscitate their campaign when they square off against each other in the 33rd match of the ongoing Indian Premier League on Thursday at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh.

With two wins apiece in their last six matches, both Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians enter this contest with the hope to record a much-needed win.

Punjab Kings, being led by stand-in captain Sam Curran amid the absence of Shikhar Dhawan, will enter the game on the back of their defeat in their last game against Rajasthan Royals. They have a formidable squad as they desperately need their players to fire on all cylinders to get the team a much-needed win. 

Players like, Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma have helped the team with runs and would be expected to contribute with the same intensity.

Mumbai Indians, On the other side, will enter the game on the back of a defeat as well after being thumped by Chennai Super Kings in their last game. Starting off their IPL campaign with three defeats on the trot under the captaincy of new skipper Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians rebounded with two consecutive victories in the fourth and fifth match, but they were outdone by Chennai Super Kings in their last game despite Rohit Sharma cracking a valuable hundred. 

Going into this game, Mumbai Indians will rely on the firepower of Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Jasprit Bumrah to help the side with blazing performances in order to put down Punjab Kings to bring their campaign back to life.

CA unveils major plans at WBBL
