South Africa thrashed Australia by (122) runs in the fifth and final ODI on Sunday at Wanderers Stadium. With this victory, South Africa have successfully clinched the five-match series 3-2. Put into bat, South Africa set a mammoth total of (315) for Australia with Aiden Markram and David Miller chipping in with (93) and (63) respectively. Earlier, South African skipper Temba Bavuma, who missed the fourth ODI, lost his wicket for (0) in this match.
In their chase of a huge total, Mitchell Marsh opened the batting for Australia alongside David Warner, however, David Warner lost his wicket after scoring (10) runs but Marsh kept on going with his attack to keep Australia in the game. Marnus Labuschagne gave some impetus with his 44-run score but it couldn’t be enough as Australia lost all of their wickets in quick succession after the wickets of these two batters.
