CPL 2023: Guyana Amazon Warriors lift maiden CPL title with win over Trinbago Knight Riders in final

Guyana Amazon Warriors thrashed Trinbago Knight Riders by nine wickets in the final of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League on Sunday at Providence Stadium. After winning the toss, Guyana Amazon Warriors put Trinbago Knight Riders to bat but Knight Riders failed to put up a tough fight as they were bowled out for (94) in (18.1) overs. Knight Riders didn’t have any batter who could stay for long and help the team with heavy scoring. Keacy Carty was the only batter who propped up the side with his 38-run knock. For Amazon Warriors, Dwaine Pretorius returned with four wickets while Gudakesh Motie and Imran Tahir claimed two wickets each.
Chasing the total, Amazon Warriors started off perfectly with Saim Ayub smashing his half-century. Keemo Paul lost his wicket early but Shai Hope helped the team with his (32). Saim Ayub and Shai Hope remained unbeaten on (52) and (32) respectively as Amazon Warriors chased down the total in (14) overs. This is the maiden CPL title victory for Guyana Amazon Warriors under the leadership of Imran Tahir.
