Pat cummins reveals the “satisfying moment” after Kohli’s wicket

Australia are being lauded for getting everything correct to record their six-wicket win over India in the World Cup final on Sunday at Narendra Modi Stadium. Amid the massive crowd supporting India for the title, Australia registered a spellbinding victory to secure their record sixth ODI World Cup title. Australia shattered India’s hopes of clinching the title by coming out with their sensational performance. Australian skipper Pat Cummins, who made pragmatic decisions, led Australia to their record-setting World Cup win. Pat Cummins’ right call came when he put India to bat after winning the toss but what he enjoyed most was the wicket of Virat Kohli as there was a pin drop silence in the ground in the wake of Kohli’s wicket. Skipper Cummins himself dismissed Virat Kohli when Kohli was batting on 54 off 62.
“We did take a second in the huddle just to acknowledge the silence that was going around the crowd (after Virat Kohli’s wicket),” said Cummins during the post-match press conference.
“I just felt like it was one of those days where it was all made for him (Kohli) to secure another hundred like he normally does. That (wicket) was satisfying,” said Cummins.
Australia’s 241-run chase was led by Travis Head and Marnus Labuschange who both stitched a 192-run partnership against India to guide their team to a beautiful win. During their partnership, Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne remained successful in quietening the huge crowd at the largest cricket stadium in the World. Pat Cummins’ Australia remained flawless across all departments during the match that yielded the sweetest win for them.
