Glenn Maxwell smashes joint-fastest T20I hundred

Emulating his World Cup form, Glenn Maxwell was once again seen at his best as he propelled Australia to the five-wicket win over India in the third T20I match on Tuesday in Guwahati. Australia successfully chased down the total of 222 to pull off a win that has kept their series hopes alive. Glenn Maxwell notched up his century off 47 balls as he recorded the joint-fastest T20I century by an Australia. With this century, Glenn Maxwell brought himself in level with Aaron Finch and Josh Inglis who both hammered their centuries off 47 deliveries. Josh Inglis had scored his century in the first T20I match of the ongoing series while former Australian skipper Aaron Finch had scored his century off same number of deliveries against England in 2013. This has turned out to be an incredibly marvellous period for Glenn Maxwell with his brilliance with the bat. This was Maxwell’s fourth T20I century that also helped him equal the record of Indian skipper Rohit Sharma’s for most centuries in this format. Recently, Glenn Maxwell had exhibited his artistry with the bat after his double century in the World Cup against Afghanistan where he fetched Australia a stunning victory in the lost battle.
