BAN vs NZ 1st Test day 3 stumps: Bangladesh make complete dominance

Bangladesh are carrying a healthy lead of 205 in the ongoing first Test match against New Zealand after Najmul Hossain Shanto played an unbeaten knock of 104. On day three, on Thursday, at stumps, Bangladesh were 212/3 in their second innings with Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim unbeaten on 104 and 43 respectively. The knock from Najmul Hossain Shanto provided Bangladesh a great relief after they lost their openers Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Zakir Hasan in quick succession. In the middle, there was a momentum built by Mominul Haque who scored 40 runs. Earlier, Bangladesh had bowled out New Zealand for 317 in their first innings with Taijul Islam and Mominul Haque returning with four and three wickets respectively. Shoriful Islam, Mehidy Hasan and Nayeem Hasan took one wicket each. For New Zealand, it was Kane Williamson who had propelled the side with his 104-run score. Bangladesh, on the other hand, in their first innings had scored 310 runs. Going into day four on Friday, Bangladesh would look forward to amassing more runs to put themselves in much stronger position.
