IND vs AUS 5th T20I: India win the series 4-1, beat Australia in the final

India inflicted a thrilling defeat on Australia in the fifth and final T20I on Sunday at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to finish the series on a high note. India beat Australia by (6) runs in the final game to end the series 4-1. India restricted Australia to (154) in their pursuit of (160) posted by India after being asked to bat. Australia had been kept in the game with the rapid half-century knock hammered by Ben McDermott (54) but the loss of middle-order batters put Australia on the backseat. Matthew Wade tried his best with his (22) off (15) but Arshdeep Singh removed him to get India back into the game. Earlier, Travis Head had given a good start to Australia with his 28-run knock. On the other hand, India had scored 160/8 in (20) overs with the help of Shreyas Iyer’s 53-run knock. Down the line, Jitesh Sharma and Axar Patel scored (24) and (31) runs respectively. India had entered the fifth T20I with an unassailable lead of 3-1 as they had already beaten Australia in the past three games. Australia’s sole victory came in the third match with which they had kept themselves alive in the series.
