In the second match of the ongoing Big Bash League, Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades will kick off their BBL 2023 campaign by taking on each other on Friday at Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. Both team will enter the field with a set of top-class players. Melbourne Renegades will be solidified by the fact that their star batter Steve Smith will be with the side. Steve Smith had been one of the top-scorers last year. Both teams will eye a moving start to amplify their chances from the very start. In the last season, Sydney Sixers had made it to the “Challenger” but lost the match against Brisbane Heat. Heading into new season, they will look forward to making it all the way. Melbourne Renegades, on the other hand, had lost the game in the "knockout" against Brisbane Heat. Both teams would want to get a bright start to their campaign after failing in the last season. Melbourne Renegades have registered their seven wins in a row against Sydney Sixers which too will give them confidence going into this game. Meanwhile, World Cup winning players Steve Smith and Adam Zampa will come face-to-face in this match.

Sydney Sixers Probable XI: Steve Smith, Josh Philippe (wk). James Vince, Kurtis Patterson, Moises Henriques (c), Jordan Silk, Tom Curran, Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis,  Steve O'Keefe, Jackson Bird

Melbourne Renegades Probable XI: Joe Clarke (wk), Nic Maddinson (c), J Fraser-McGurk, Aaron Finch, Mackenzie Harvey, Jonathon Wells, Will Sutherland, Tom Rogers, Kane Richardson, Adam Zampa, Mujeeb Ur Rahman
