SA vs IND T20Is: Suryakumar Yadav bags massive records in the 2nd game despite teams’ defeat

Although, India lost the second match but there was no decline in Suryakumar Yadav’s batting assault in the second T20I between South Africa and India on Tuesday at St George’s Oval. In the rain-reduced game, South Africa thrashed India by five wickets to take 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Their first game had been washed out due to rain. Asked to bat, India lost their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill in quick succession but Suryakumar Yadav along with Rinku Singh helped remove the pressure from the team. Suryakumar Yadav scored (56) runs with the help of which he accomplished certain records. During the innings, Suryakumar Yadav became the joint-fastest Indian to score 2000 T20I runs. He came in level with Virat Kohli to become joint-fastest with (56) innings.
Suryakumar Yadav also became the fourth Indian batter after Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul to score 2000 runs in the T20I format of the game. In the recent times, Suryakumar Yadav has been leading team India in the shorter format of the game where he has made huge gains. This is Yadav’s second assignment as skipper of the team. Yadav’s 56-run knock also helped him overtake former Indian skipper MS Dhoni’s record. Yadav became the only Indian captain to score 50-plus runs in T20Is. Yadav also shattered the World Record set by former Australian skipper Aaron Finch to reach 2000 runs in T20Is. Yadav completed his 2000 runs off 1164 deliveries while Aaron Finch took 1283 deliveries to get to 2000 runs in T20Is.
