AUS vs PAK 2nd Test day 1 stumps: Three-down Australia lead the day, Pakistan remain solid too

Usman Khawaja and David Warner put on a 90-run partnership after Australian skipper Pat Cummins was asked to bat in the second Test match against Pakistan on Tuesday at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Hasan Ali, brought in the line up after pacer Khurram Shahzad was ruled out of the series due to injury, dismissed dangerous Usman Khawaja to break the growing partnership. Earlier, Warner had fallen to Salman Ali Agha in the crucial breakthrough for Pakistan. Shaheen Afridi remained wicketless despite rattling Australian batters. There was an opportunity where Afridi could have got the wicket of Warner when he was dropped by Abdullah Shafique. Meawhile, there was also a rain delay in between but proceedings resumed after a little pause. Pakistan are hoping to bounce back in the series after having suffered their loss in the first game. At stumps, on day one (Tuesday), Australia were 187/3 with Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head unbeaten on (44) and (9) respectively. On day two (Wednesday), Australia would look to put on more runs, while Pakistan will search for early wickets to carry the hope for a much needed win.
