Afghanistan slated to play multi-format series against Sri Lanka and Ireland

Afghanistan are scheduled to get more action ahead of the T20I World Cup, scheduled to be played in June in USA and West Indies. As of now, Afghanistan are scheduled to play India in the three-match T20I series that will start from January 11. In a big boost to Afghanistan, they will play multi-format series against Sri Lanka and Ireland. Afghanistan will play against Sri Lanka in a One-Off Test, beginning February 2 in Colombo.
After the Test match, Afghanistan will lock horns with Sri Lanka in the three-match ODI series beginning February 9. They will culminate their Sri Lanka tour with the three-match T20I series that will run from February 17 to 21. Later, Afghanistan will head to United Arab Emirates to play against Ireland in the multi-format series.
Afghanistan will play against Ireland in a One-Off Test from February 28 to March 3. The ODIs will be played on March 7, 9 and 12 respectively. The three-match T20I series will be played on March 15, 17 and 18 respectively.
“The Year 2024 is a very busy and full of highly voltage competitions for the Afghanistan National Team which is a very good and positive sign for Afghanistan Cricket,” ACB CEO Naseem Khan said.
"The upcoming tours of India, and Sri Lanka, and then the home series against Ireland will help us to prepare the team for the much-important T20 World Cup. Eagerly looking for the multiple series upfront,” he said.
