Shami on his return to England Test series

India’s gritty pacer Mohammed Shami has spoken about his availability for the upcoming Test series against England. Shami also touched upon his role in the T20 format. England will be travelling to India for the five-match Test series beginning January 25. Mohammed Shami has undoubtedly emerged as one of India's most brilliant and consistent fast bowlers in both Test and ODIs. His ability to bowl at constant pace and maintain accuracy has made him a key part of the Indian cricket team.
In the recently ODI World Cup, Shami emerged as the highest wicket-taker in the tournament. However, Shami has been the victim of injuries that have tested his resilience and determination. Since the World Cup, Shami has not been in action for India as he continues to recover from an ankle injury. Recently, there were also reports that Shami will likely be missing the first two Test matches against England. Speaking to India Today, Mohammed Shami spoke about his potential return to action.
“I am trying best to be available for the selection for England the series test match is longer format so you don’t want to be in doubt,” Mohammed Shami said.
“Whenever it comes to T20s, many times I don’t understand that whether I am in scene or not. But what I feel is that you have IPL before the T20 World Cup and that is the best opportunity to bering in momentum, and if management will ask me to play, I’ll be available,” said Shami.
