Glenn Maxwell quits as Melbourne Stars’ skipper

Melbourne Stars' skipper Glenn Maxwell has decided to step down as skipper of the Melbourne Stars after teams’ failure to make it to the final of the ongoing Big Bash League. For the last four seasons in a row, Stars have failed to advance to the final. Maxwell informed the teammates about his decision to relinquish the captaincy following the poor run at the BBL13.
During this season, Melbourne Stars failed to secure bigger margin in terms of victories after they could manage 4 victories initially in a row. However, their last six games saw them losing their games one after another. Maxwell took over Stars’ captaincy in 2018 following the retirement of John Hastings. Maxwell will continue to be with the Melbourne Stars as his contract with the franchise remains until BBL15.
