“Ravindra Jadeja is indispensable”: Former Indian cricketer expresses concern

After getting sidelined from the second Test match due to injury, Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been added to India's squad for the upcoming third Test match against England that will be played from 15th February in Rajkot.

Jadeja sustained hamstring injury during the first Test match in Vizag, leading to him being ruled out of the second game. Jadeja has been added to the squad, however his participation remains subject to fitness.

Undoubtedly, his return is expected to bolster India's chances as they aim to consolidate their lead, but former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has urged the management not to rush Jadeja, calling him 'indispensable'.

"Ravindra Jadeja is indispensable in this team, there is no doubt about that. However, because he is indispensable, you don't want to rush him back too quickly as he will have to bowl a lot,” said Chopra on his YouTube channel.

Elaborating further, Chopra stated that if cleared to play, Jadeja will have to bowl considering the spin-friendly track at Rajkot.

“He will also have to bat and field. He is a three-dimensional player. So for him, I would say move ahead with caution. If he comes, India might start thinking about playing four spinners with Bumrah,” Chopra added.
