PCB terminates Harish Rauf's central contract
Pakistan Cricket Board has taken a stern action against fast bowler Haris Rauf over his refusal to participate in Pakistan's Test squad for the recently concluded Australia tour. Additionally, he will not be granted NOC (No Objection Certificate) to play in any foreign league up to June 30th, 2024.
There was a lot of backlash against Harish Rauf after he made himself unavailable for Pakistan's tour of Australia for the three-match Test series that Pakistan lost 0-3. Earlier, Rauf had given his consent to be with the team, but later pulled out citing workload management.
Pakistan's Test series against Australia, in December-January, clashed with Australia's T20 tournament BBL (Big Bash League) which Rauf participated in playing for Melbourne Stars.
Meanwhile, Pakistan team director Mohammad Hafeez's term has also ended after he was appointed last year in November. In his role as director, Hafeez oversaw Pakistan's tour of Australia and New Zealand respectively.
