Wanindu Hasaranga advances to a huge milestone

Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga, a prodigious spinner, has etched his name into record books by accomplishing the feat of reaching 100 T20I wickets further solidifying his status as a bowling maestro. Hasaranga has become a pivotal figure in Sri Lanka's cricketing landscape over the years as he becomes the second bowler from Sri Lanka to reach 100 T20I wickets.
Overall, Hasaranga is the 11th player to create this record. Hasaranga got to this record during Sri Lanka’s second T20I of the ongoing three-match series against Afghanistan on Monday in Dambulla. Hasaranga captains Sri Lanka in T20Is after assuming the role recently.
Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga is the first bowler from the country to take 100 T20I wickets. However, Malinga took his 100th T20I wicket in 76th T20I, while Hasaranga claimed it in his 63rd T20I. Hasaranga is also the second -fastest bowler after Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan to reach this landmark. Rashid Khan made it to his 100th T20I wickets in his 53rd T20I game.
