IND vs ENG 5th Test: England to play for pride as India refuse to let up
India and England gear up for the much-anticipated fifth and final Test match that will be played in Dharamshala, which is having a breathtaking landscape, from 7th March. The colourful stadium will mark the thrilling conclusion of the series that has seen a lot of action unfold over the past few weeks.
The five-match Test series has been a rollercoaster ride of fierce competition, showcasing moments of brilliance from both sides. India, who performed really well, currently lead the series with an unassailable 3-1 lead after securing victories in the second, third, and fourth matches.
However, England, despite facing setbacks, gave a tough fight to India, and will be eager to salvage pride and end the series on a high note by clinching a win in the final encounter. Despite being it a dead-rubber, England will play for WTC points and hope to stage their comprehensive comeback.
The match will also be marking significant milestones for Indian veteran R Ashwin and England batter Jonny Bairstow who both will be making their 100th Test appearances. Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has returned to the proceedings after being rested for the fourth Test.
India have exhibited their dominance throughout the series with the likes of Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Dhruv Jurel in the batting order, while their bowling attack has been solidified with the fiery spells from Ravindra Jadeja, Ravinchandaran Ashwin and Akash Deep.
England, on the other hand, have showcased resilience and determination despite facing defeats in the series. The visitors have demonstrated commendable performances, with the newcomers like Tom Hartley and Shoaib Bashir. Ahead of the fifth Test, England announced their playing XI. England have made one change with Mark Wood replacing Ollie Robinson.
