Bringing an end to their thrilling league stage campaign of the ongoing Pakistan Super League, Multan Sultans emerged victorious over Quetta Gladiators in the 30th match of the tournament on Tuesday at National Stadium, Karachi, securing a resounding 79-run win. This remarkable victory not only helped Sultans finish at the top of the points table but also highlighted their dominance in the tournament.
Asked to bat, Multan Sultans posted a competitive total of 185/4 in 20 overs with the huge help coming in from skipper Mohammad Rizwan and Johnson Charles scoring (69) and (53) respectively.
Chasing the target, Quetta Gladiators faced an uphill task right from the start as they struggled to build partnerships with Sultans’ David Willey and Usama Mir returning with three wickets each. Abbas Afridi also chipped in with two scalps. Gladiators were bowled out for (106) in (15.5) overs. Omair Yusuf remained the top scorer for Gladiators with his (37) runs.
