PSL 2024: Multan Sultans storm into the final, beat Peshawar Zalmi

The Multan Sultans secured their spot in the final of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024, beating Peshawar Zalmi by 7 wickets in the qualifier on Thursday at National Stadium, Karachi. Multan Sultans displayed their dominance with a commanding victory, clinching their spot in the final for the the fourth successive time on the bounce.
Chasing a notional total of 146, Multan Sultans mowed down the target in 18.3 overs with Yasir Khan and Usman Khan hammering 54 and 36 respectively. Down the order, a blistering 22-run knock off 8 from Iftikhar Ahmed helped the team clinch the victory.
Earlier, deciding to bat, Peshawar Zalmi struggled to put up runs after some of their top-class batters lost their wickets for low scores. Skipper Babar Azam stood out with his score of 46, but to no avail. Sultans’ bowlers set the tone early on, restricting Peshawar Zalmi to a chaseable total. Chris Jordan and Usama Mir returned with two wickets each to make their big contributions in a must-win game.
However, despite the defeat, Peshawar Zalmi remain undeterred and determined to bounce back in the tournament. With another chance in the eliminator, they have an opportunity to redeem themselves and reignite their campaign for the coveted PSL title. They will face the winner of the first eliminator to try their fate and reach final.
