AFG vs IRE 3rd T20I: Ireland look to turn the tables as Afghanistan eye series

Having levelled the ongoing three-match T20I series 1-1, Afghanistan and Ireland are set to cross each other’s path in the third and final T20I match on Monday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Ireland beat Afghanistan in the first T20I by (38) runs, taking 1-0 lead in the series. But, Afghanistan roared back with 10-run victory in the second game, levelling the series 1-1. Heading into the third and final T20I, stakes are high, with both teams looking to win the series. 

Both teams possess firepower in both batting and bowling department. Ireland, after a defeat in the second game, would hope to win the third game and clinch the series.

Afghanistan, on the other hand, would look forward to maintaining their momentum, and pin down Ireland to win the T20I series as well. Afghanistan already secured 2-0 series win in the preceded three-match ODI series.

In the second T20I, Afghanistan, deciding to bat, posted a fighting total of (152) in (20) overs for the loss of (9) wickets. Chasing the total, Ireland were restricted to (142/8) in (20) overs, with Rashid khan returning with four wickets.
