NZ-W vs ENG-W 1st T20I: Heather Knight powers England to a comfortable win

In the first T20I match of the five-match series, England Women emerged victorious against New Zealand Women, clinching a crucial 27-run win on Tuesday at University Oval. England Women showcased remarkable performances and intense competition on the field, starting off their tour on a brilliant note.
England, put into bat, put up a great total, courtesy of some impressive batting display from players Sophia Dunkley and Heather Knight hammering (32) and (63) runs respectively. Their knock emboldened middle-order batters to capitalize on a good start. In the middle-order, Maia Bouchier remained unbeaten on (43), propelling England to a competitive score.
Pursuing the target, New Zealand Women skipper Suzie Bates gave the team a huge start, scoring (65) runs. But, they lost their top batter Izzy Gaze for a duck. Down the order, Georgia Plimmer and Brooke Halliday tried their best to take the team over the line with their scores of (21) and (27*) respectively, but New Zealand Women could score (133) in (20) overs for the loss of five wickets.
With the win, England Women take 1-0 lead in the five-match series. This is an encouraging start for England Women building up to the T20I World Cup.
