Delhi Capitals have been put to bat after Punjab Kings decided to bowl in their first match of the Indian Premier League being played at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh on Saturday. Rishabh Pant is leading Delhi Capitals, marking his return to action for the first time since suffering frightening injuries in a car crash incident in December 2022.

Pant missed the entire tournament last year with David Warner leading the side. All eyes will be focused on explosive Rishabh Pant as this is his first competitive game.

Last year, Delhi Capitals struggled to gather momentum in the tournament with a series of defeats coming their way. They finished at the bottom in the points table with five wins from their 14 games.

Punjab Kings, too, will also look forward to making their strong comeback, having finished the tournament last year with six victories from 14 games. Both teams have shared equal number of victories from 32 games they have played so far. But, both teams have not been able to win the IPL trophy yet, however, with new season they will look ahead to put themselves on the path of success.

Delhi Capitals Playing XI: David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Shai Hope, Rishabh Pant(w/c), Ricky Bhui, Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel, Sumit Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, Ishant Sharma

Punjab Kings Playing XI: Shikhar Dhawan(c), Jonny Bairstow, Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma(w), Harpreet Brar, Harshal Patel, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Arshdeep Singh, Shashank Singh
