South Africa fast bowler Lizaad Williams has been signed by Delhi Capitals as the replacement for Harry Brook who pulled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League due to the passing away of his grandmother. Lizaad Williams will join Delhi Capitals at his base price of INR 50 lakh as he will bolster DC’s bowling unit alongside Ishant Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed and Anrich Nortje.

This will be the first time Williams will be playing in the Indian Premier League. About his record in T20s, Lizaad Williams has played (83) T20 matches, in which he has claimed (106) wickets. He, earlier this year, played in SA20 for Joburg Super Kings, finishing with (15) wickets.

He made his debut for South Africa in April 2022, having played two Tests, four ODIs and 11 T20Is. Ahead of the IPL 2024, Lungi Ngidi had also withdrawn from the league due to the lower-back injury as he continues to recover from that.
