Former Indian player backs Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh for India’s T20I World Cup squad
T20I World Cup 2024 is on the horizon as discussions around India’s squad for the upcoming T20I World Cup take the centre stage. There have been many interpretations from former cricketers surrounding India’s squad for the T20I World Cup. The T20I World Cup 2024 will be held in West Indies and USA in June.
The recent opinion to surface has been from former Indian cricketer Venkatesh Prasad who has advocated the inclusion of left-handed batters Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh in India’s T20I World Cup squad. Both batters are known to play aggressive and attacking cricket, and the conditions in West Indies favouring spin will be helping them a lot.
“Shivam Dube for his striking ability against spinners, Surya for being the best T20 international batter and Rinku Singh for his exceptional finishing ability. It will be great if India finds a way to have these 3 in the 11 in the T20 WC. With Virat and Rohit, this will leave a spot for just a keeper batsman. Interesting to see how it pans out,” he posted on social media.
India’s spot for the wicket-keeper also remains undecided, with number of players hoping to make their case.
