Young sensation Jake Fraser-McGurk demonstrated a fine batting display, powering Delhi Capitals to squeeze out an excellent 10-run victory over Mumbai Indians in a high-scoring battle on Saturday at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Romping DC to an imposing total of 257, young Jake played a lion-hearted knock of 84 off just 27, producing the best figures of his maiden IPL season.

His 84-run knock, featuring 11 boundaries and six sixes, launched the team to a great start. Later Brilliant efforts from Abhishek Porel, Shai Hope and Rishabh Pant making 36, 41 and 29 respectively, propelled the team to a stronger point. Moreover, South African batter Tristan Stubbs remained unbeaten, cracking 48 off 25.

Chasing the total, Mumbai openers couldn’t lead the team off to a fiery start, with Khaleel Ahmed dismissing dangerous Rohit Sharma. And, a little later, Mukesh Kumar struck to knock down Ishan Kishan. Powerful Suryakumar Yadav, arriving at a critical moment, started pummeling right away.

Yadav added 26 off 13 before being dismissed by Khaleel Ahmed. It remained a daunting chase for MI, despite Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya making 63 and 46 respectively. Young Tim David, imposing himself with a brisk 37 off 17, cracking two fours and three sixes, couldn’t make sure MI's win, falling just 10 runs short.
