West Indies Women clinched a resounding victory over Pakistan Women, winning the fifth and final match by eight wickets to close out the series 4-1 on Friday at National Stadium Karachi. West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews delivered an exceptional performance, scoring a blistering knock of 78 runs to propel the side to chase down a target of 134 set by Pakistan Women after being put to bat.

Pakistan continued with their miserable form, suffering batting collapse down the order. Opener Sidara Ameen lifted the side to some respectability with her 48-run score. Ayesha Zafar and Muneeba Ali scored 22 and 25 respectively. West Indies, meanwhile executed their plans meticulously to restrict the Pakistan to 134/8 in 20 overs. 

Chasing a target of 134, West Indies were off to a solid start, with skipper Hayley Matthews, in particular, displaying her class and power-hitting prowess with a magnificent innings of 78. Hayley Matthews’ innings by supported by middle-order batter Shemaine Campbelle, who hammered 33 to take the team to victory with ten balls to spare.
