Royal Challengers Bengaluru displayed a spectacular all-round performance as they cruised to victory against Gujarat Titans by four wickets in the ongoing Indian Premier League on Saturday at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli led the charge with impressive innings, setting the tone for their team's emphatic win in pursuit of a target of 147 runs.
Chasing a target of 147 runs, Royal Challengers Bengaluru got off to a flying start, thanks to blistering knocks by Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli, scoring 64 off 23 and 42 off 27 respectively. Faf du Plessis scored the second-fastest half-century for RCB, bringing it up off 18 balls. With the win, RCB recorded their third victory on the bounce, rising to the seventh position in the points table.
After electing to bowl, RCB bowlers executed their plans meticulously, bowling out Gujarat Titans for a modest total of 147 runs. Mohammed Siraj, Yash Dayal and Vyshak Vijay returned with two wickets each to put a cap on GT’s scoring rate. Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia lifted the GT to some respectability with their elegant knocks of 37 and 35 respectively. David Miller also landed a little help by scoring 30 runs. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill continued with his struggle, giving away his wicket for 2 off 7.
