ENG vs WI 2nd Test day 2: England in command as West Indies eye perfect start

England batter Ollie Pope was the star of the show on day 1 (on Thursday) at Trent Bridge of the second Test match between England and West Indies with his sixth Test century. Pope (121) led the way with his heroic batting to catapult England into a dominant position after being asked to bat.
The 105-run partnership between Ben Duckett, who scored (71), and Ollie Pope helped England put on 416 before being bowled out.
West Indies faced a challenging period with bowlers not being able to find breakthroughs. Skipper Ben Stokes’ 69-run knock further helped England after Joe Root lost his wicket cheaply.
England had a rocky start after opener Zac Crawley went back for a three-ball duck with Alzarri Joseph luring Crawley into edging the ball to slip fielder Alick Athanaze. Meanwhile, West Indies are yet to start their batting as they will begin their innings on Friday.
