Dissenting voices over Mega Auction during IPL owners meet

IPL franchises recently gathered to discuss significantly vital issues proposed for the tournament. The meeting, held at BCCI headquarters, saw many views pouring in particularly around the Mega Auction and the Impact Player rule. According to reports there were divided opinions with respect to Mega Auction.
The meeting also saw discussion regarding the Impact Player rule, which allows teams to substitute one player for another at any point during the match. There has been good amount of resistance surrounding the Impact Player rule and it was also one of the most talked about topics during the last edition of the tournament.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah said that there was a constructive dialogue and the recommendations will be taken to the IPL Governing Council.
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Wednesday organized a constructive dialogue with the owners of the 10 franchises on various subjects pertaining to the upcoming season of the TATA IPL. The franchise owners tabled feedback on player regulations and other commercial aspects, including central merchandising, licensing, and gaming. The BCCI will now take these recommendations to the IPL Governing Council for further deliberation and evaluation before formulating the IPL player regulations,” said Jay Shah in a release.
