Bangladesh bowler Taskin Ahmed has been rested for the second Test match against South Africa, with Khaled Ahmed coming in as a replacement, Bangladesh Cricket Board stated on Thursday.

The second Test match will begin on October 29 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. In 15 games, Khalid has claimed 28 wickets but recently against India he failed to replicate his form, going wicketless.

Bangladesh lost the first game against South Africa by 7 wickets, with their top-order batters failing across both innings. There was some fightback from Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Jaker Ali in the second innings but it wasn’t enough to stop South Africa’s attack.

Bangladesh Squad for Second Test: Najmul Hossain Shanto (Captain), Shadman Islam, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Zakir Hasan, Mominul Haque Showrab, Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Kumer Das (WK), Jaker Ali Anik, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Nayeem Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana, Hasan Murad, Syed Khaled Ahmed
