Virat Kohli speaks on RCB retention

Batting maestro Virat Kohli has expressed his deep gratitude after being retained by Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction. As the franchise prepares for another season in the IPL, Virat Kohli expressed hope to win the IPL title.
“I am sending out this message to inform everyone that I have been retained by RCB once again for the three-year cycle of the IPL beginning next year,” Kohli said in a video posted on social media.
With the recent release of their retention list, which includes Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal, RCB are gearing up for a determined campaign to secure their first BBL title. Since the league's inception in 2008, RCB have been one of the strongest contenders but have yet to lift the coveted trophy.
“I am super excited as ever as everyone knows what RCB means to me. It’s been a very very special relationship over so many years which continues to grow stronger and what I have experienced playing for RCB is truly special. I hope that the fans and everyone who’s connected to the franchise feels the same way,” Kohli said.
“At the end of this cycle it is going to be 20 years that I am going to be playing for RCB and that in itself is a very very special feeling for me. I have never thought that I am going to play so many years for one team but the relationship has truly become special over so many years and as I have said before that I don’t see myself anywhere else,” Kohli added.
