Keshav Maharaj ruled out of Pakistan ODIs

South African spinner Keshav Maharaj has been ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing home ODI series against Pakistan. Maharaj picked up a left adductor strain during the warm-up session ahead of the start of the ODI series. Later, scans confirmed the injury, which has now put him out of action.
Bjorn Fortuin has been named as Keshav Maharaj's replacement for the remaining two games. Recently, Maharaj was incorporated into South Africa's squad for the two-match Test series against Pakistan. It is a massive blow for South Africa, who are hoping to book their spot in the World Test Championship final.
Moreover, South Africa are reeling from the absence of Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi and Gerald Coetzee, who have been away from action due to their respective injuries. As per a CSA release, Maharaj will now head back to Durban for rehabilitation and will be assessed ahead of the first Test against Pakistan. The first Test is scheduled to begin on December 26.
