Rohit Sharma joins Mumbai training camp

Indian ODI and Test captain Rohit Sharma, who has been enduring a lean patch in Test cricket, has joined Mumbai’s squad for their training session ahead of the second phase of Ranji Trophy. Rohit Sharma’s decision indicates his intention to find his rhythm and make a strong comeback after struggling with form in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
Mumbai team is gearing up for sixth-round fixture against Jammu and Kashmir. They went through a two-hour centre-wicket session at Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday. There is no certainty whether Rohit Sharma will play Ranji Trophy but he is likely to play at least one of the two remaining group fixtures. Mumbai’s squad is expected to be announced this week for their game against Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking about Rohit’s form, his last few outings in the format have been below expectations, with inconsistent scores raising concerns over his future. Rohit Sharma was only able to muster 31 runs in three Tests in the Test series against Australia.
