Indian pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah has been named the ICC Men's Test Cricketer of the Year 2024 following his outstanding bowling performance in 2024. Bumrah’s unparalleled ability to deliver in high-pressure situations, and his consistent brilliance with the ball have earned him this prestigious accolade. Bumrah capped off 2024 as the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket. He claimed 71 wickets in 13 matches.

Bumrah also became only the fourth Indian bowler after Ravichandran Ashwin, Anil Kumble and Kapil Dev to take more than 70 wickets in a calendar year. Bumrah was also absolutely phenomenal during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy where he alone frustrated Australian batters with his searing pace.

India, however, lost the BGT 1-3 but Bumrah’s impressive performance was on full display, earning him the player of the series award. In Australia, Bumrah picked up 32 wickets in five Tests, finishing the year 2024 on a positive note.

“'Game Changer' Jasprit Bumrah is awarded the ICC Men's Test Cricketer of the Year 2024. Bumrah took 71 wickets at a stunning average of 14.92, finishing as the highest wicket taker in Test cricket in 2024,” the BCCI stated on X.
