WPL 2025: Bottom-placed UP Warriorz face RCB Women

News

In the 18th match of the ongoing Women’s Premier League, UP Wariorz Women will be clashing with Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women on Saturday at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. UP Warriorz are in a very tough situation, having suffered defeat in their last match against Mumbai Indians. They have been languishing at the bottom in the points table with two victories from seven matches. Having suffered defeats in five games, the upcoming encounter doesn’t seem to solve any problem for Warriorz. However, they would eye a win to have some hope.

RCB Women, on the other hand, have also been going through same phase, having endured a series of defeats. They are currently sitting on the fourth position in points table with four defeats from six matches. With two victories, they only have four points and a negative NRR of -0.244.

In their last match, RCB lost to Delhi Capitals, with many of their top-order batters failing to help the side. The defeat came as a huge disappointment as this was their third consecutive defeat in the tournament. Only, ever reliable Ellyse Perry was the lone warrior, firing 60 runs unbeaten to guide the side to (147) but that total proved to be insufficient and Perry’s knock went in vain. RCB, leaving the past behind, would hope to record a win to cement their playoff chances.
