After being asked to bat, GT’s innings was anchored by an explosive start from their openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill. The pair quickly seized control of the game, taking advantage of some early loose deliveries and building a solid foundation for their team. Sudharsan’s knock of 63 runs was both stylish and aggressive, as he smashed boundaries all around the ground. Meanwhile, Gill supported him well with a valuable 38 runs.
In the middle, Jos Buttler, a vital cog in the GT's batting lineup, kept the momentum going with a quickfire 39 runs.
