Jaiswal regains form as Rajasthan Royals snap Kings’ streak

Punjab Kings’ two-match winning run in the ongoing Indian Premier League was brought to a sudden halt after they were comprehensively beaten by the enthusiastic Rajasthan Royals by 50 runs on Saturday at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh. Chasing a challenging total of 205, Kings were unable to keep up with the momentum, finishing their innings at 155/9 in 20 overs, leaving them 50 runs short of victory.
Rajasthan bowlers were clinical in restricting Punjab, with their top-order batsmen failing to deliver the expected performance. The team's struggles began early, as they lost key wickets at crucial moments. Despite the efforts of Nehal Wadhera (62) and Glenn Maxwell (30), who both showed some resistance, their contributions weren’t enough to turn the tide in favour of Punjab. Meanwhile, a sensational bowling display from RR bowlers set the scene for team’s exciting win.
Earlier, pinned to bat, RR’s batting was led by openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and skipper Sanju Samson, both of whom played key roles in getting RR off to a flying start. Jaiswal, having failed to deliver in the previous games, contributed a blistering 67 runs. His innings included some trademark boundaries, hitting five sixes and three fours and laying the foundation for a strong total. Samson provided solid support at the other end, scoring 38 runs.
Into the middle overs, it was Ryan Parag who further solidified RR's position. Parag’s unbeaten 43 off 25 provided the finishing touches, helping the team reach a commanding total of 205/4 in their 20 overs.
