Ishant Sharma fined for breaching IPL Code of Conduct

Gujarat Titans’ fast bowler Ishant Sharma has been slapped with a fine of 25% of his match fees and handed one demerit point for breaching IPL’s code of conduct during Titans’ match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday in Hyderabad. 

"Ishant Sharma admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 and accepted the Match Referee's sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee's decision is final and binding," An official statement from IPL read.

According to IPL code of conduct, the Article 2.2 relates to abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment, or fixtures and fittings during a match.

Ishant Sharma, meanwhile, has registered a murky start to his IPL campaign with Gujarat Titans, leaking 107 runs across eight overs in three games. So far, he has only been able to claim one wicket. Against Hyderabad, Ishant went wicketless, conceding 53 runs across his four overs.
