Mumbai Indians put on an impressive performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday at Wankhede Stadium, sealing a commanding four-wicket victory. MI, chasing a target of 163, completed the chase in just 18.1 overs, finishing at a comfortable 166/6. Their chase was off to a flying start, thanks to their opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton. The duo came out all guns blazing, putting up 26 and 31 runs respectively. Their explosive partnership gave Mumbai Indians the momentum needed to stay ahead in the chase. However, both were dismissed in quick succession, which brought the middle order into play.

In the middle-order, Suryakumar Yadav and Will Jacks struck valuable knocks of 26 and 36 respectively to stabilise the innings. Meanwhile, after their dismissals, Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma took care of the chase, cracking 21 each to take the side home. Hardik Pandya lost his wicket just before the victory, but Tilak Varma remained unbeaten, hammering winning runs.

Earlier, SRH, who were asked to bat, posted a total of 162/5 in 20 overs. Their openers, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma were the foundation of SRH’s total, with both men playing significant knocks. Sharma top-scored with 40 runs, while Head added a solid 28 to help propel SRH to a competitive total.

Lower the order, Heinrich Klaasen provided a late boost. His quick-fire 37 runs ensured the side had enough runs on the board to put up a fight.
