Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Arun Dhumal has said that the IPL is awaiting governments’ directives to determine whether the IPL will continue or not in the wake of ongoing unrest between India and Pakistan. However, Dhumal maintained that the tournament is on as of now.

"We are reviewing the situation right now. It is an evolving situation. We haven't received any directive from the government. Obviously the decision will be taken keeping all the logistics in mind," Dhumal told PTI.

In the 59th match of the IPL, Lucknow Super Giants will host Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Lucknow on Friday.

"Yes, it is on as of now, but obviously it is an evolving situation, and any decision will be taken keeping the best interest of all stakeholders in mind."

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was called off midway due to ‘a significant technical failure’, as per the IPL statement.
