Match officials for WTC Final announced

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named the match officials for the World Test Championship (WTC) final between South Africa and Australia at Lord’s in June. South Africa’s Chris Gaffany and England’s Richard Illingworth will be serving as the on-field umpires.

India’s Javagal Srinath will be serving as the match referee, while Nitin Menon has been announced as the fourth umpire. It will mark Menon’s debut appearance in the WTC final. Meanwhile, Illingworth is returning for his third straight WTC final as on-field umpire, having been part of the WTC finals in 2021 and 2023.

Gaffaney partnered with Illingworth at the 2023 WTC Final and the 2022 T20 World Cup Final. Meanwhile, Richard Kettleborough has been appointed as the TV umpire. The WTC Final between Australia and South Africa will be played from June 11 to 15.
