Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer slapped with fines

Mumbai Indians’ skipper Hardik Pandya and Punjab Kings’ leader Shreyas Iyer were slapped with fines for slow over-rates during their IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 match in Ahmedabad on Sunday night. Shreyas Iyer was fined ₹24 lakhs as it was his team's second offence of the season. Their first offence was during a match against Chennai Super Kings on April 30.
"Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during Qualifier 2 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Mumbai Indians at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad," IPL stated in a release.
"As it was his team’s second offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Iyer was fined INR 24 lakhs. The rest of the members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, were each individually fined either INR 6 lakh or 25 per cent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser,” the release further stated.
Mumbai Indians’ skipper Hardik Pandya was fined Rs 30 lakh. The rest of the Mumbai Indians playing XI were fined Rs 12 lakh, or 50 per cent of their match fees.
"Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has also been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate. As it was his team’s third offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Pandya was fined INR 30 Lakh,” IPL stated in a release.
“The rest of the members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, were each individually fined either INR 12 Lakh or 50 per cent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser.”
