Attention shifts to the white ball as West Indies and Australia are set to face off in the first of a five-match T20I series on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica. Both teams would aim to kick off the proceedings on a high note to impose early dominance.

The West Indies will bank on veterans like Shai Hope, Shimron Hetmyer, Jason Holder, and the powerful all-rounder Rovman Powell. The series is also making headlines due to Andre Russell’s penultimate international appearance, bringing firepower in the first two games. He will be calling time on his international career following the second T20I. The spotlight will also be on West Indies’ two fresh faces - batter Jewel Andrew and fast bowler Jediah Blades. The West Indies will lean on home momentum and young firepower.

For Australia, Cameron Green and Josh Inglis continue from the Test tour, while Matt Kuhnemann and newcomer Mitch Owen will be expected to add depth. Australia will be led by Mitchell Marsh, who is coming off a massive success in the cash-rich league IPL. Representing LSG, he scored 627 runs.
