Kuldeep Yadav shines as India register sensational start to Asia Cup campaign
India stormed into their Asia Cup campaign with a thumping nine-wicket victory over UAE on Wednesday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, delivering a sensational performance with both bat and ball. India showcased their bowling prowess, bowling UAE out for a paltry 57 in 13.1 overs before chasing down the target in just 4.3 overs.
The star of the show with the ball was spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who tore through the UAE batting lineup with a clinical four-wicket haul. And all-rounder Shivam Dube was equally devastating, picking up three crucial wickets. UAE, having been asked to bat, never found their footing as their top order crumbled under pressure, leaving the middle order in utter disarray.
Meanwhile, chasing the target, Indian openers Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma made light work of the modest target. Abhishek departed after playing a fluent knock of 30 off 16. While Gill (20*) along with Suryakumar Yadav (7*) remained unbeaten to guide India home. India scored 60/1 in 4.3 overs.
