Women's ODI World Cup 2025 to have all-female line-up of match officials
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that the upcoming ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, to be held in India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2, 2025, will feature an all-female panel of match officials. This is the first time in the history of the ODI World Cup that the tournament will be entirely officiated by women match officials. The ICC revealed the names of four match referees and 14 umpires who will take charge during the tournament.
Match referees: Trudy Anderson, Shandre Fritz, GS Lakshmi, and Michell Pereira.
Umpires: Lauren Agenbag, Candace la Borde, Kim Cotton, Sarah Dambanevana, Shathira Jakir Jesy, Kerrin Klaste, Janani N, Nimali Perera, Claire Polosak, Vrinda Rathi, Sue Redfern, Eloise Sheridan, Gayathri Venugopalan, and Jacqueline Williams.
"This marks a defining moment in the journey of women's cricket, one that we hope will pave the way for many more trailblazing stories across all facets of the sport," ICC president Jay Shah said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the Women's ODI World Cup is scheduled to begin on September 30 with hosts India taking on Sri Lanka at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.
