"They were making personal attacks": Abhishek Sharma on fiery exchange with PAK players

The on‑field confrontation between Indian batter Abhishek Sharma and Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has been one of the most talked-about topics since the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four clash between both sides, where India edged Pakistan by six wickets on Sunday in Dubai. India's victory was crafted by a blistering 74-run innings off 39 balls by Abhishek Sharma, who pounded Pakistan bowlers across the ground with his six-hitting ability.
Pakistan had set a target of 172/5, which was made possible by a half‑century from Sahibzada Farhan. Meanwhile, India’s chase was powered by a dominant opening stand of 105 runs between Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, unleashing a brutal assault. Speaking on the face-off, Abhishek Sharma said that he felt Pakistan’s bowlers were getting unnecessarily aggressive.
"I felt today was the day to bring out such a performance. Personally, I didn't like how they were making personal attacks after every ball. I felt it was important to give an answer to them," Abhishek said on Sony Sports.
"This is not how you play cricket. Shubman and I just had a chat that we will give an answer after winning the match," he added.
India so far have been unbeaten in the tournament, dominating the points table with their searing performances. Their next outing is against Bangladesh on Wednesday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.
