Once again delivering a dominant performance, India defeated Bangladesh by 41 runs in a crucial Asia Cup Super Four encounter at the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday. With this win, India bolstered their position in the tournament and demonstrated their strength in both batting and bowling departments.

Asked to bat, India got off to a flying start following a blistering innings from young power-hitter Abhishek Sharma. The opener continued his fine form, smashing 75 runs off just 37 balls, which included six boundaries and five splendid sixes. His aggressiveness gave India a strong platform in the powerplay.

While the middle order couldn't fully capitalise on the brilliant start, Hardik Pandya down the order proved to be a reliable anchor. The ever-reliable all-rounder played a knock of 38 off 29 balls, taking India to a competitive total of 168/6 in 20 overs.

In reply, Bangladesh's chase was led by opener Saif Hassan, who fought a lone battle with a gritty 69. However, he lacked support from the other end. Bangladesh's middle and lower order collapsed under pressure, failing to form meaningful partnerships as wickets fell at regular intervals. Kuldeep Yadav returned with figures of 3 for 18 to put India on top. Meanwhile, Bangladesh were bowled out for 127 in 19.3 overs. With the victory, India have marched into the Asia Cup 2025 final.
